Black core is made to increase contrast on black and white images or highten the clarity of color photographs. Standard mat board is called 4 ply. Our Very Thick mats are 50% thicker, 6 ply. The affect of this thickness is shown in the 45 degree bevel which appears even thicker. Conservation black core mat in Smooth White or Deep Black, conservation backing, tape already attached and waiting and positioning guidelines for flawless placement of your print is in one simple mat kit.
