Chop is a picture frame industry term meaning lengths of moulding cut to the size desired for a frame but not assembled...4 individual pieces with 45 degree cuts on the ends. This is the least expensive way to purchase frames because you add your work and skill to put the frame together. Metal frames are usually sold as chop and hardware is provided to join the ends. Wood, MDF and polycarbonate chop will require gluing and, most likely, brads or an underpinner joining machine.
